Eloise Maud, nee Schnipper, Homan, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2015. She was born July 10, 1919 in Belleville, IL. For the past two years Eloise lived with her daughter and son-in-law in Valley Falls, KS.
At various times in her life, Mrs. Homan was a member of the Cornerstone Christian Church, a Life Time Member of Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, a Girl Scout leader, girls’ soft ball coach, and a volunteer for the Mascoutah Senior Center. Mrs. Homan enjoyed Square dancing and playing bridge. She had a sharp sense of humor and a feisty gleam in her eyes. She was great buddies with her son-in law, Roy. They were founding members of the Great Canadian Cookie Tasting Team.
Mrs. Homan was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan L. Homan who she married on June 3, 1942 in Webster Groves, Missouri. He died on May 20, 2000; parents, Valentine and Alta, nee Bruce, Schnipper; siblings, Carlos (Ruth) Schnipper, Warren (Marjorie) Schnipper, Marguerite (Harold) Hayes and Jean Schnipper.
Mrs. Homan is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Pennee (Roy) Merrill, grandchildren, Melissa (Dean), Megan, Matthew (Sherri), Scott and Andrew; great -grandchildren, Christopher, Megan Elizabeth, Baylee, Eden, Jude, Lucan, Jacob and Ann; also, survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and other relatives, family and friends.

Visitation: family and friends may call on Friday, April 3, 2015 from 3 to 4 p.m. at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois.
Funeral: Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 3, 2015 at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Hodshire officiating.
Interment will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 9 a.m.
