Emma Schmiedeke

Emma Schmiedeke (nee Schrock), 92, of Belleville, IL born on December 20, 1920 in McMinnville, OR passed away peacefully at her residence on January 18, 2013. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who raised her children without ever giving her opinion. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, John Edward Schmiedeke and her siblings; Urias, Mahlon, Harley, David, Joseph, Lawrence, Fannie, Phoebe, Susan, and Anna. She is survived by her sons; Don, Dennis (Roz) “Lee”, Carl, Blaine “Tracy” (Amy), and John (Beth) Wolff; her daughters, Sheila (the late Dennis Meyer) and Doris “Dori” Noltkamper; grandchildren, Timothy (Dana), Charlie (Anna) Davis, Sean (Stacey) Davis, Derrick, Jennifer Noltkamper, Joshua, Regina (Brian) Bentley, Shane Trebing, and Layla; great grandchildren, John, Erica, Kevin, Jessica, James, Jennifer, Jada, Devin, Raquel, Austin, Nadia, Robert, Becka, Jacqueline, Emma, Robert, and Aubrey; her brothers, Phineas (Anna) Schrock and Henry (Lizzy) Schrock; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at Valhalla-Gaerdner-Holten Funeral Home, 3412 Frank Scott Parkway West, Belleville, IL and service will be at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
