Erik worked as a steamfitter and was a member of Steamfitters Local 420. He was a loving father, son, brother, and uncle, who will truly be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers, John A. Johnson, Jr. and Terry Johnson.
Surviving are his daughter, Shelby Duck, of Belleville, Illinois; his parents, John A. and Rosalie A., nee Cates, Johnson, Sr., of Red Bud, Illinois; his sister, Kim (Scott) Gross, of Columbia, Illinois; two nieces, Grace Otten and Evelyn Gross; his two step-nieces, Jacqueline Gross and Jillian Gross; and his step-nephew, Noah Gross.
