Geoffrey G. Schmidt

He was born November 28, 1957, in E. St. Louis, IL to Robert L. and Patricia (Allen) Schmidt. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his two sons, Josh Schmidt and Geoffrey Schmidt; and sister, Karin Ripley.

Geoff is survived by his daughters, Aimi (Jim) Hoffarth of Belleville, IL and Ashley (Bobby) Weidler of Belleville, IL; step-daughters, Jennifer Webb of St. Louis, MO and Jessica (Daniel) Mull of Highland, IL; grandchildren, Jordan, Zachary and Dylan Hoffarth, Landon, Owen and Cael Weidler, Jaxon Schmidt, Grace Edler and Sophia Selyuta, and Addyson and Joslynn Mull; great-grandchildren, Serenity, Sienna, Marceline, Phoenix, Saint and Roman; and his siblings, Leah (Jeffrey) Ross of St. James, MO and Eric (Tina) Schmidt of Smithton, IL; and his brother-in-law, Tom Ripley of Belleville, IL.

Geoffrey was the President of the 3-5-8 St. Clair County Pool League for many years. Playing pool brought him years of enjoyment, friendships and treasured memories with his two sons, Josh and Geoffrey.

He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation for Geoff will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026, from 4:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home in Belleville, IL. There will be a brief time of sharing, beginning at 7:00 P.M. Cremation rites will be accorded following services.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
