

Harold J. "Jack" Wiecking, 82, of Belleville, IL, passed away peacefully August 8, 2025, at Freeburg Care Center in Freeburg, IL. He was born October 3, 1942, in Belleville, IL to the late Oscar P. Wiecking and Virginia A. Helbig (nee Schramm).
He graduated from Belleville Township High School in 1960 and furthered his education at Ranken Technical College where he excelled in auto repair/painting.
He also studied at SIUE for a period of time. He began working at Wagner Buick and Model Sales where he worked for 10 years. His lifelong career was a claims adjuster for Allstate Insurance where he was employed for 25 years. After retirement, he continued his passion for auto restoration and was considered "one of the best" around Belleville. In his free time, he also enjoyed gardening and cooking.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar P. Wiecking and Virginia A. Helbig (nee Schramm); sister, Janice A. Hemmer; two stepsisters, a brother-in-law, a niece and nephew.
Jack is survived by his two daughters, Connie Boyer of Swansea, IL and Jody Nickel of Freeburg, IL. Six grandchildren, Ellie Boyer (Shannon), Molly Boyer, and Richard (Emily) Boyer. Tyler Nickel, C.J. (Maddie) Nickel, and Cole Nickel; and three great-grandchildren; Wyatt, Bella and Ophelia.
In accordance with Jack's wishes, he will be cremated and a private family service will be held. The family would like to extend their sincere thank you to the staff at Freeburg Care Center for the loving care provided to Jack during his time there.
The family has entrusted Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home in Belleville, IL with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family through the online guestbook.
