Hilda M Green Ramage

Hilda Ramage, 80 of Breese, Ill., formerly of Dupo, Ill., passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Hilda was born July 3, 1931, in East St. Louis, Ill., to Charles Oron and Floy Green, nee Hamilton. She married Glyn Ramage on November 28, 1953, and he preceded her in death on June 26, 1968. Also preceding her in death are her brothers, Joseph and Charles “Prentice” Green, and her sisters, Mary “Sis” Scott and Helen Sullivan.

Hilda worked at Parks Aeronautical College in Cahokia, from 1968 to 1995, starting in the bookstore, then as Assistant to the Director of Admissions, and finished her career as the Assistant to the Dean.

Hilda is survived by her son Glyn (Sandy) Ramage, of Millstadt, Ill., and her daughter, Patti (Steve) Mahlandt, of Breese, Ill. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Brooke (Dan Meanor) Ramage, Dustin (Alison) Ramage, Alyssa Ramage, Chris (Jamie) Mahlandt, and Josh Mahlandt (fiancé, Courtney Marron), five great grandchildren, Sydney and Piper Meanor, Drake and Addie Ramage, and Evan Mahlandt, sister-in-laws, Estelle Neill and Roselle Ramage, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Hilda will always be remembered for her sweet smile, her loving nature, and her unwavering devotion to her family.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, October 17, 2011 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, with Fr. Bill McGhee officiating. Interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Ill.
