March 31, 1937 - September 10, 2025
Jacquelyn Ann Woodrome, 88, of Belleville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025. Jackie, a lifelong Belleville resident, was a 1954 graduate of Belleville Township High School. The epitome of timeless beauty, Jackie never seemed to age. From her stylish wardrobe, to her flawless hair, to her golden tan, Jackie shone brightest on the arm of her equally handsome husband of 64 years, Kenny. What started off as two teenagers connecting at Lutheran Walther League Youth Group led to a lifelong partnership rooted in faith and a mutual dedication to family including their children Marty and Toni and later their four beautiful granddaughters, and one great granddaughter. She cherished nothing more than time with her family.
Selflessly dedicating her time and talents, Jackie was a committed lifelong member of the Lutheran church where she sang in the choir and served as a beloved Sunday School teacher. Through the years, Jackie worked at Schmale Insurance, Cedar Village, Martin Accounting, and Belleville Electric.
When not at church, Jackie and Kenny traveled to Germany, Gulf Shores, Williamsburg, South Dakota, Colorado, and Gatlinburg among others. Jackie prioritized fitness and loved to play tennis at Oak Hill and was faithful to her Jack LaLanne workouts every day, including Christmas and Easter. Talking to her sister Sharon daily, Jackie’s loyalty was seen through her quiet kindness. She faithfully sent birthday cards to those she loved. Cooking wasn't her favorite pastime, but she was happy to share her Chicken Marengo, tuna noodle casserole made healthy with an extra serving of peas, and pineapple upside-down cake with family and friends.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Marty (Maureen) Woodrome of Belleville, Illinois, Toni (Jeff) Gass of Millstadt, Illinois, and grandchildren, Josi (Nick) Roberts, Madeline (Patrick Whalen) Woodrome, Emily Woodrome, and Elisabeth Woodrome, and one great granddaughter, Lane Roberts, her sister Sharon (Jerry) Gaskill and brother Stan Lasco. Jackie’s greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Woodrome (deceased February 13, 2023) and her parents, Edward and Helen (Dammerich) Lasco.
Visitation will be from 10am to 12pm on Thursday, September 18th at Valhalla-Gaerdner-Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois. Funeral will be immediately following at 12pm.
Interment will follow in Valhalla Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Belleville, Illinois.
