Jesse Wayne Steiner Sr., 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 2, 2018, in East Saint Louis Illinois. He was born to Gilbert Steiner and Mary (Bateman) Steiner on May 15, 1937, in East Saint Louis, Illinois. Jesse married Joyce M. Ford in 1959. Jesse proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed stock car racing, fishing, gardening, and most of all, spending time with his family. Jesse is survived by his children, Jesse (Laura) Steiner Jr., Crystal (Jack) Counts, and Julie (Jerry) Counts; grandchildren, Abigail, Emily, Duane (Kelly), Jerry, Rebecca (Darrin), Rachel (Matthew), Megan (Lee), Luke, and Marlee; great grandchildren, Jackson, Mason, Brantley, Olivia, Derez, Caidence, and Aspen; brother, Kenneth (Linda) Steiner; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Elizabeth Steiner. Memorial gathering for Jesse will be held on Thursday June 7, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, 3412 Frank Scott Parkway West, Belleville, IL. 62223 Memorial Service will be held at 12 p.m. at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, 3412 Frank Scott Parkway, Belleville, IL. 62223 In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Humane Society.

My Sincere and Deepest Sympathy to you all. I would have been there by I have a very important audit at work and have to be there. Pop is now at Peace and with tow of his favorite ladies. You will all see him again one day and he will welcome you with open arms. Know that I am with you in thoughts and prayers. RIP Jesse!!! Here is a pic of my last memory of him and Lizbeth together waiting on plane to Florida.
