

Jim was a Member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, The Knights of Columbus, The Utility Workers of America Local 405, member of the YMCA, and served in the United States Marine Corps, he was an avid outdoors man who loved his family, hunting and fishing.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Myrtie, nee Hobbs Burgess; step father Noble Toon; Siblings, James William, James Goeble, Joseph Pete, and Robert Earl Burgess and Ruby Pearl Clapp; brother and sister in laws, Raymond Coleman, Mary Keuenhoff, Iry Keuenhoff, Cliff Burgess;
Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 56 years Sarah, nee Coleman, Burgess who he married on March 26, 1955; Children Jim (Jean) Burgess, Jr., of St, Jacob, Illinois, Susan Diane (John) Russell of Smithton, Illinois, Cynthia Ann (James) Schuhardt of Smithton, Illinois and Richard Thomas (Julia) Burges, Sr., of Red Bud, Illinois; grand children, Susan Brooke (Dr. Jason Barnett). Melissa Ann Burgess, Johnny Lee (Jessica) Russell, Ryan (Sarah) Russell, James Tyler Schuhardt, Dillon Maxwell Schuhardt, James Kyle (Heather Hamilton) Burgess, Richard Thomas Burgess, Jr., and Sydney Boyd Burgess; great grand children, Luke Barnett, Samuel Barnett, Morgan Barnett, Cali Kickline John Austin Russell, Kaylee Isabella Russell and Ayden Nicole Burgess; brother, John Ernest (Dean) Burgess, brothers and sisters in laws, Margaret Burgess, Gertrude and Carl Werner, Roseann and Henry Weilmuenster, Joan and Fred Madden and Jane Coleman;

Funeral: a mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Paderborn, Illinois.
Interment will be held following services in Saint Augustine Cemetery, Waterloo, Illinois
