Lillian was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. In her younger years, she canned vegetables and made homemade rootbeer. She was a woman of faith who taught Sunday school for many years. She loved to sing and play the piano with her husband. Prior to moving to the nursing home, she lived with her daughter and they enjoyed sitting outside watching birds and squirrels. Lillian then moved to Randolph County Nursing Home where she fell in love with the staff and the resident dog and cat. Being an animal lover, her favorite channel was Animal Planet, except on Sunday morning when she watched David Jeremiah and other church services. She was full of love and grace and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Lilly, nee Newman, Holmquist; her husband, Rev. C. Raymond Johnson, ; one son, Ronald Johnson; one brother, Bill Holmquist; and one sister, June Ridderhoff.
