

Mr. Levin proudly served as the second Mayor of Cahokia, IL while he was in his twenties. He and his wife then lived in Liberia, West Africa for 13 years while working for Firestone on a rubber plantation. Upon his return to the states, he was an entrepreneur and settled into the automotive field. He worked in this field for many years, and was involved in the start up and operation of various car dealerships in the St. Louis area. Throughout his career, Louis enjoyed taking time off to travel the world with his wife, June.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, June, nee Lee, Levin; his parents, Alfred and Lula, nee Pulcher, Levin, and four sisters, Clara Junior; Evelyn Raeber; Louise Hardwig; and Eleanor Pogue.
He is survived by one son, Eric (Libby) Levin, of Edwardsville, IL; a grandson, Ryan Tarazi of Edwardsville, IL, and a granddaughter, Andrea Levin, of Edwardsville, IL.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2012 at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Theiss officiating. Interment will be in the Valhalla Gardens of Memory.
