“Life Reality”
When I was just a little child
I dreamed of flying high
Among the birds and butterflies,
White clouds and deep blue skies.
And as I grew the days seemed long
Like life would pass me by
And never know that I was here
Nor hear me when I sigh.
But years went by as years will do
Both filled with work and play,
A child to raise, to teach and love,
Dreams to see me through each day.
And now I’m old, but life’s still bright
Through eyes oft filled with tears,
I know I’m loved and that’s what counts
To silence all my fears.
M.C. Davis, June 1987
