

Martin was the owner and baker of the Swansea Pastry Shop. He had previously owned a bakery shop in Freeburg, Ill. He was also a baker for Fischer’s Restaurant for many years. Martin was a member of the First Christian Church and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Martin is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore L. and Elizabeth M., nee Glaus, Koesterer; a son Randy Koesterer; and four brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, nee Cook, Koesterer; four daughters, Diana (Anthony) Savoia, Kerry Tiren Naccarato, Terry (Dennis) Dixon, Kara Tauchert; a son, Tim (Tina) Tiren; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grand-children. Martin is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wed., Dec. 26, 2012 at the First Christian Church, 5929 Old St. Louis Rd., Belleville, Ill.
Funeral: Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thurs., Dec. 27, 2012 at the First Christian Church with Pastor Doug Hargrave officiating. Interment will follow in the Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Ill.
