Mary "Marlene" Adams

Marlene was born June 6, 1935 in St. Louis, MO to Leonard and Mary (Ritter) Hogan. She married Wayne Adams on July 17, 1954; he preceded her in death on September 24, 2024. Before Wayne’s passing, they shared 70 wonderful years of marriage.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Marlene is survived by her family, including her 4 children, Leonard (Kim) Adams of Belleville, IL, Robin (Kevin) Liebler St. Louis, MO, Tim (Susan) Adams of Belleville, IL and Mary (Mike) Nowak of Belleville, IL; her 10 grandchildren, Megan (Jeff) Brennan, Josh (Courtney) Adams, Amy (Anthony) Wilson, Shannon (Patrick) Baird, Tyler, Connor and Hannah Adams, Allyson, Kayla and Emma Nowak, and five great grandchildren.

Marlene was a devoted homemaker, raising and caring for her children and family. Later in life, she worked for District 118 Abraham Lincoln School as an aide. She enjoyed spending time with friends, bowling and playing Bingo.

She was an active member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Belleville for many years. Above all else, Marlene loved her family dearly and cherished their time together. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation for Marlene will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 10:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at St. Henry’s Catholic Church, 5315 W Main Street, Belleville, IL. A funeral Mass will be held following the visitation, at 12:00 P.M. Final interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital.
