Mary F Kopf

Mary was born July 21, 1951 in Belleville, IL daughter of Robert Smith and Bernice (Mueller) Warden. She married her high school sweetheart Rodney J. Kopf on Jan. 15, 1972 until his death on 6/1/2012.

Mary Worked at Illinois Bell until having children, then at the family business Kopf Electric Motor Service. She then retired to be the “Granny Nanny” for her grandkids, volunteering at their schools, running them to sports and events. Mary also made many trips to Charleston, SC every chance she could to see her “down south” grandkids.

Surviving are her 2 daughters Tara L. Kopf of Shiloh, IL and Shana L (Mickey Charles Jr.) Walker of Charleston, SC, 5 grandchildren Aidan Cometa, Evan Cometa, Mickey Charles Walker III, Rory Walker, Madison Walker, 2 brothers Gary (Carol) Smith, Bary (Marilyn) Smith, sister-in-law Janice Smith, brother-in-law Thomas Collins, brother-in-law Gene (Patsy) Kopf, and of course, granddog Mello, who became her cancer support doggie.

She is also survived by many loving and supportive nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many good friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years Rodney J. Kopf, her parents Robert Smith and Bernice (Mueller) Warden, her brother James R. Smith, and her sister Judith A. (Smith) Collins.

Mary will be cremated as requested and ashes joined with her husband, Rod.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Moose Lodge 1221 in memory of Mary Kopf and given at the funeral home.

Services will be at Valhalla-Gaerdner-Holten Funeral Home at 3412 Frank Scott Pkwy W, Belleville, IL 62223 on Saturday July 9th from 10 am to 2 pm with Memorial Service starting at 2 pm.
