

Mr. Klemme was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII. He was retired from the railroad and as an auditor for the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Melvin rode a Harley-Davidson Motorcycle. He loved to build model airplanes, play the harmonica, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and playing the slots at the Casino Queen.
He was preceded in death by his step-father and mother; Elmer and Elvira, nee Klemme, Winkelman, his father, Arthur Herman, his former wife, Virginia, nee Bruehl, Klemme, a granddaughter, Jill McWhorter, and a brother, Robert (Catherine) Winkelman.
Surviving are his children; Michael (Mae Dell) Klemme of Clearwater, Florida, Nancy (Wilbert) Smith of Belleville, Illinois, and Shoshanah (Howard) Goller of Brooklyn, New York, twelve grandchildren; Jeff (Laurin) McWhorter, Jason (Elizabeth) McWhorter, Aviva Goller, Shai Goller, Ayelet Goller, Sandy (Mike) Bonney, Heather Klemme, Kate Monroe, Amanda Klemme, Terry Watsek, Tommy Trione Jr. and Gregg Smith (Margaret) , twenty-one great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, a sister, Betty (Dennis) Mueth, two brothers; Richard (Lynn) Winkelman and Ronald (Kathy) Winkelman, a special friend, Jo Ann Hayden, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
