Norman A. Schlesinger, 96, of Belleville, Illinois, born, October 20, 1914 in Belleville, Illinois, died on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at his home in Belleville, Illinois. Mr. Schlesinger was a life member of St. Clair Lodge 24, AF&AM, Belleville, Illinois, He is a retired Captain for the City of Belleville Fire Department Engine 3132 and a retired employee of Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Illinois. Norman was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle, nee Buechler, Schlesinger; daughter, Mariellen C. Pinkerton; parents, George and Frieda, nee Stein, Schlesinger; brothers, Earl Schlesinger and Dots Schlesinger; Sister and Brother In law Nora (Irwin) Ebersohl.

Surviving are his long time companion, Virginia Huber of Swansea, Illinois; Daughter, Deborah (Ronn) Brooks of Belleville, Illinois; Granddaughters, Nicole (Derek) Pfeffer of Belleville, Illinois, Tracy (Steve) Middendorf of Caseyville, Illinois and Shandi Heaton of Belleville, Illinois; grandson, Brian (Paula) Pinkerton of St. Augustine, Florida and six great grandchildren.

Visitation: Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 15,2011 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois.

Funeral Service. Services will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 11:00 at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Bellville, Illinois
