Dear Steve,Luanne, Andrea, and Jimmy, please forgive my late condolences, but as one of your Dad's best friends used to say "better late than never." Your Dad was the first one my Dad told of his cancer, a year before he told the rest of the Durkee's. Your Dad was my godfather and I was always proud of that. Your Dad said I could not work at the station uless I went back to college, I did both. Nunsio James Lombardo was one great man. The world was/is better because of him and your mother, who he honorably took care of to the end. May God rest his gracious hard working soul. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. In Christ, (one of) his godsons, Steve Durkee and family

Jim, Bonnie & I have you and your family deep in our thoughts and prayers. I bought my first car in 1955 and filled it up the first timeat your dad's gas station near Scott AF Base. Over the years I boutht other cars and filled them up there also. Your dad was always there to keep them running for me. We became good friends and fishing buddies. Good memories of your dad will always be with me. I can not drive the old station and think of him and you.. You are a mirror image of many of your dad's good ways and I am sure he died with muchy pride in you. Jim Noeninger

Jim was one of a kind.On the way to Scott in the 80s ,I had car trouble.

Went to Jim,he looked under the hood & fixed for free.
