Paul Edward Pankey

Paul was a retired baker for Wonder Hostess. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener. He also enjoyed taking road trips with his wife Ruth and spending time with his beloved family. Being a “Pop Pop” was his greatest joy. Paul was a loving provider to his family up until the day he went home to be reunited with his wife. He was an incredibly kind man who will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew him.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 56 years, Ruth Ann Pankey (nee Stacks) and seven siblings, Jack, Vernon, Charles, Tommy, Helen, Bonnie and Fannie Mae.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his children, Janie S. (Thomas) Schuff, Phyllis S. Eichholz and Paula R. (David) Nelson; grandchildren, Brian Schuff, Jennifer (Curtis) VanHorn, Cody Stillman, Emily A. Nelson, Tyler M. Nelson and Chad Fosnock; great-grandchild, Noah; niece, Beverly Janes, plus numerous other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to a charity of your choice.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Monday, April 11, 2022 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home in Belleville, IL.

Funeral will be held at 12:00 pm Monday, April 11, 2022 at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, IL.
