Rae Logsdon Barnes, 93, of Hot Springs, AR formerly of St. Louis, passed away on February 28, 2014 at her residence. Rae was born on April 30, 1920 to Val E. Sutton and Lura E. Rickard in New Madrid, MO. She was a Women’s Army Service Pilot for 6 years, including WWII, ferrying pilots and planes between the US and Europe. She also served on the National American Cross Board and the Cerebral Palsy Foundation. For most of her career, Ms. Barnes was an insurance agent. She will be deeply missed by her family and everyone she came in contact with.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, John Logsdon and Hal Barnes; daughter, Laura Logsdon; and sister, Henrietta Rauth.
She is survived by her children, John, Terry, Barbara, and Dale Logsdon; stepson, Bill Barnes; nieces, Pat Wangelin and Fay Farthing; 3 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren.
