Richard “Dick” Kenneth Kaltenbronn, 72, of Belleville, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025. He was born July 31, 1952 in Belleville to Richard and Gladys (Fries) Kaltenbronn. Dick was a manager at Sears for 30 years and Big Lots for 9 years. He enjoyed fishing. Dick also had a green thumb and was proud of his mile high sunflowers. He enjoyed spending time with his many friends and family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving to cherish his memory include his wife of 43 years, Paula (Dougherty) Kaltenbronn; daughter, Heather (Cheo Barrera) Alms; son, Nicholas (Alexandra Vecchio) Kaltenbronn; sister-in-laws, Judy Vorce and Kathy (Scott) Black; numerous nieces and nephews and beloved grand dogs, Gamora, Lucy and Lobo. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Gladys Kaltenbronn; mother and father-in-law, Bernard and Nina Jean Dougherty; brothers-in-law, Brian Dougherty and Gary Vorce; sister-in-law, Deborah Dougherty and nephew, Ryan Miller.
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, 3412 Frank Scott Pkwy W., Belleville, IL 62223. A memorial luncheon will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 11:00am to 3:00pm at Swansea Improvement, 216 Service St., Swansea, IL 62226. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to Hawthorne Animal Hospital, Angel Fund or the Alzheimer’s Association.
