

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS Constellation during the Vietnam War. Robert worked for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), as a maintenance technician on Scott AFB, until his retirement in 2006.
He was known for his ingenuity and was truly a “Jack of all trades”.
Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to many, who will be dearly missed.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Guillerma “Emma” Palmer, nee Vivero; and parents, Oliver & Johanna Ohl.
He is survived by his four children, Frank (Laura) Dimaano of Mascoutah, IL, Ramon Leonido, Rosalinda Dequina, and Loreta Udtohan of the Philippines; grandchildren, Sarah (Jimi) Nutter of New Lenox, and Adam (Alyssa Freeman) Dimaano of Mascoutah; grandchildren and great grandchildren of the Philippines; sister, Margaret Leonhardt; and other beloved family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Robert’s name may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Mass will be held at the Filipino-American Association of Southern Illinois Clubhouse, on Saturday April 9, 2016 at 2:00pm.
