Uncle Bob was always such a kind man and will be truly missed by many.Craig always welcomed the lessons he learned from him.

Uncle Bob we will miss our bi-annual trips to see you. Mom, Wendy and I so enjoyed these trips. Stop at candy store to bring you sweets, trip to dollar store and Wendy loading my cart with weird goodies, out to eat at the corner restaurant and Wendy's....Sunday church and fun times at you apartment....lots of memories... I remember Uncle Bob coming up to Two Rivers,Wi and staying a week or so and it seemed like he could always find a project to work on by my Aunt Rozy's house. He was just so talented which I envied so very much. I wish he would of lived closer so I could listen to his stories and have him teach me his skills. He will be missed!!

Grandpa Bob had the best raspberries.  I loved picking them from his garden and from our yard; he had given us stalks. 

He once made me a bench which I used to reach high places.

I grew up with Bob as a second grandfather.  His Grandson Jeff has been my best friend for 40 years.  I remember Bob coaching our Church Basketball team and leading us to the Championship Game.  In his late seventies, Bob re plumed his entire house in just a crawl space. This was just two weeks after a double knee replacement.  Bob had the strongest grip of any man I have ever known.  They dont make like him anymore.  He will be greatly missed.

Grandpa Bob was truly an amazing person and family member. My favorite memory will always be how excited he was to give us his homemade red raspberry jam that he made from the raspberries in his garden. He was hardworking and passionate, and I will miss him very much!

We were extremely saddened to learn of Bob's passing. He was so much a part of our East Side Heart & Home family here in East St. Louis.  Bob's generosity with his time and talent over the past 15+ years helped us in the efforts to build a wonderful and responsible community of homeowners in the area of Seventh and Summit Streets here in our city.  It will be difficult for us to walk by any one of the homes that he worked on without thinking of him standing there--checking to see if the siding was put up correctly. Bob was  a great man and loving husband to his wife Mary.  I will always remember the surprise birthday party he held for his wife Mary.  Mary was so touched she cried the entire time.  Bob also was know for giving to people, always helping out who was in need from helping his family to building homes for the poor.  Attached is a photo from the 80th Birthday Party he held for his wife in 2009.

Bob was an amazing man. He told me how he weighed 165 lbs when he joined the army in WWII & he weighed 165 lbs everyday there after including the day he told me the story & he was 92 years old.  His magic plan.....he got on the scale everyday.  If he was less than 165 he ate what he wanted that day.  If he weighed 165 than he watched what he ate that day.  That is classic Bob.  He made difficult tasks look easy.  I think we can all learn something from Bob.  I'll miss talking to him.

Grandpa Bob was always good at telling stories from his childhood. My favorite story was how he used a milk jug for a baseball glove. Rest in Peace!

Just taking a moment to remember my stepfather, Robert Notz, who died earlier today at age 94. ??Bob served in WWII then  worked as a coal miner and a firefighter/captain, also built houses for Habitat for Humanity (up until he was 92!) and volunteered for everything under the sun. He enjoyed doing sudoku puzzles, loved his dogs - JJ and Brady, loved his Green Bay Packers but most of all loved his family. He enjoyed following the lives of his grandkids (and great grandkids) and had a memory better than mine. He and Connor had a special bond as Connor used to follow him around with house projects, car maintenance and gardening. Though I did not meet him until I was an adult and I used to think of him the beginning as more of my mom's husband, he grew to be such a special part of our family. He gave the last years of his life serving as a full time caregiver to his wife and my mom as she suffers her battle with Alzheimer's. He gave up much of his life and time working tirelessly to make sure she was well cared for.  He just surprised her with a special wedding anniversary at the nursing home (22 years!). Rest in peace, Bob. The world was a better place because of you. You really made a difference and isn't that a wonderful legacy to leave behind?

I remember Mom and Bob on their 22nd Anniversary.  Bob was insisted that Mom wear her "I Just married Bob" Minnie T-shirt.  He wore his "I just Married Mary" Mickey mouse shirt. They looked so romantic together.  Both shirts still fit after 22 years!!!

Mom was deeply in love with Bob.  They square dance together, played cards and visited family.  He took such great care of her. He will be deeply missed.
