

Robert was a United States Army Veteran who received the Purple Heart Medal and other prestigious awards. He served in the Korean War. He painted and decorated for over 25 years , then continued to work as a custodian for Belleville District #201, Belleville Township High School West and East.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rudolph Veath and his Mother, Aurelia, nee Meyer, Schwarz; and three brother-in-laws, Norman Rogers, Lorraine Braun and William McHugh.
Surviving are his loving wife of 38 years, Anna Mae Veath, nee Stroh, of Millstadt, Il., of who he married on April 30, 1971; a son, Rick (Sandra) Gauch of Shiloh, Il., Grandchildren, Amanda (Jeremy) Gettelfinger and Ashley Halter both of Louisville, Ky., and a great-granddaughter, Grace Gettelfinger of Louisville, Ky., a brother, Richard (Loveen) Veath of Millstadt, Il., and four sisters, Joan Rogers of Bismark, Il., Mary Jane Braun of Belleville, Il., Verna Lee McHugh of Belleville, Il., and Carolyn (Kenneth) Metze of Belleville, Il., and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Belleville Area Humane Society, Belleville, Il.
