Mrs. Steele was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Belleville, Ill. Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, fishing, gardening, and singing.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest E. Steele, III; parents, Richard and Lillian Wiley, nee Griffin; and by her brothers and sisters.
Surviving are her children, Ernest E. Steele, IV., Robert A. Steele, Valerie J. Greer, Thelma A. (Jim) Stoops, and Anita L. Price; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
