Scott was a 1979 graduate of Belleville Township High School West and served as a premier floral designer for Walter Knoll Florist and Wade Funeral Home for decades. His amazing work was featured in several publications including The Ladue News, FTD Mercury Messenger, and FTD Flowers and Bridal Fantasies. He was very proud of his designs and had a tremendous passion for designing for final events. He hosted a weekly radio show on WGNU called "Floral Design Inside & Out".
Scott had a special zest for life and enjoyed having fun with his numerous friends in the gay community. Beverly Hills was a top notch drag queen at Faces Night Club in E. St. Louis in the 1980's. She participated in several pageants and beauty events within the St. Louis community and had a tremendous love for all her "sisters".
Scott was a devoted Catholic who served at St. Stanislaus Church in St. Louis. He always supported Catholic organizations and had a special place in his heart for the Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters (the Pink Sisters) at Mount Grace Chapel. If Scott knew you had a loss, you could expect a letter in the mail in the form of Masses! His faith helped him through many challenges in his life--particularly in his final years of failing health.
Scott leaves behind his partner of 21 years, Brad Fish, who saw him through his good years & the hard ones too, along with numerous friends. We only get so long in this world to make our mark and though 63 years wasn't enough, Scott certainly made his mark!
His big heart, zany sense of humor, and kind soul will be missed and lovingly remembered by those who had the honor of knowing him.
In accordance with Scott's wishes, he was cremated and laid to rest with his mother and sister at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Belleville.
A Celebration of Life for Scott will be held Sunday, June 1, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, 3412 Frank Scott Pkwy West, Belleville, IL 62223. Stories and memories will be shared at 1 p.m. Bring your best!
Please sign Scott's guestbook online. Memorials are appreciated to the Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters of Mount Grace Chapel, 1438 East Warne Ave, St. Louis, MO 63107.
