She was preceded in death by her husband Jere Casey; her parents, Clifford and Pauline (nee Beers) Scherby; a sister, Sally Hook; a brother, Roy Scherby and a niece, Cindy Barrett-Hazelwood.
Surviving are her daughters, Lisa (James) Juraszek of Waterloo, IL and Julia (Eric) Alexander of Manchester, MO; step-daughters Sue (Ed) Priebe and Janet Casey; granddaughters Lauren, Jordyn and Maddy; grandsons Brenden, Tyler and Austin; nephew John; nieces Linda Sue, Bobbi, Kathy and Brenda, plus many friends.
Susan was a proud member of the St. Clair County Legal Secretary Association for many years. She gained a wonderful group of friends and enjoyed their times together, even after retirement. She loved reading, puzzles, a margarita or glass of wine while laughing with friends, watching sunsets from her Naples lanai, chocolate, dragonflies and the color red. She especially loved her dear sister Sally and brother Roy and we are happy knowing they are all together again.

Visitation with family will start at 10 AM on Friday, May 13, 2022 with a Celebration of Life at 11 AM at Valhalla-Gaerdner-Holten Funeral Home in Belleville, IL.
