

Victor was born January 9, 1933 in St. Louis, MO to Carl Leroy Sr. and Florence Amanda (Smith) Winterbauer. He married Theresa Nagy on 20th of August 1955 in Fairview Heights, Il. Together, they shared 65 wonderful years together. Theresa preceded him death on April 23, 2021.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Lewis Winterbauer; and two brothers, Otto Ford and Carl Leory Winterbauer Jr.
Victor is survived by his loving family, including his children, Scott Winterbauer of Phoenix, Arizona, David Winterbauer of Phoenix, Arizona, and Amy (Robert) Hoekstra of Gilbert, Arizona; grandchildren; Chris (Brean) Winterbauer of Belleville, Illinois, Sara (Zach) Schutt of Bridgeton, Missouri, Brianna Winterbauer of Escondido, California, Natasia (Joshua) Verdugo of Escondido, California, Samantha (Shannon) Clossen of New Athens, Illinois, Austin (Jennifer) Winterbauer of Dallas, Texas, Hallie Winterbauer of Rochester, New York, Nicholas Hoekstra of Gilbert, Arizona, Kaitlyn Hoekstra of Gilbert, Arizona, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Victor was a devoted husband, adored father, and cherished grandfather. He served honorably as a Marine during the Korean War. After dedicating 35 years to a career in truck driving, Victor retired in 1992. He was an enthusiastic fisherman, sports fanatic, barbecue genius, and lover of all animals. Known for his sharp wit, personable humor, and enduring charisma, he easily formed connections with others. His vibrant legacy is carried on by his family and loved ones.
A visitation for Victor will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025 from 10:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.
A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, at 12:00 P.M. Final interment will be held at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL, alongside his beloved wife, Theresa.
