

Violet was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Salem, IL and a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Troy, IL. She was a very good mother and an excellent cook! Mrs. Widdows enjoyed traveling, especially in the RV; dancing; painting; and making porcelain dolls.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Raymond Widdows; her parents, Harry and Ruby, nee Shuler, Powell; 2 brothers Hartzel and Virgil Powell; and 4 sisters, Gladys Duncan, Vera Brumfield, Viola Huff, and Veretta Garrett.
She is survived by 3 sons, Larry (Beverly) Widdows, Gary (Geri) Widdows, and Jeffrey Widdows; 2 daughters, Phyllis (Warren) Fick and Pamela (Edward) Janson; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and 1 brother, Vernon Powell.
