

Virginia was born June 26, 1935 in Du Bois, IL to Leo and Martha (Kania) Sherman. She married Edward Rynski on April 28, 1956; he preceded her in death on April 21, 2018.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; four sisters and four brothers.
Virginia is survived by her loving children, Debbie (Bryan) Williams, of Daytona Beach, FL, Donna (Dennis) Elbe, of Mascoutah, Illinois, Steve Rynski, of Woodbridge, Virginia, Kevin Rynski, of Swansea, Illinois, Carol (Dan) Oliver, of Waterloo, Illinois, and Mary (Brian Kelly) Self, of St. Louis, Missouri; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Blair, Brad Williams, Jason (Mickey) Elbe, Matt (Katy) Elbe, Scott (Carie) Elbe, Tobey Oliver, Jeremy (Sarah) Oliver, Krista Oliver, Samantha Oliver, Morgan (Jordan Lascuola) Self, Colin Self, Abbi (Joe) Abbate, and Amanda Self; great-grandchildren, Carson, Mason, Easton, Jacob, Owen, Noah, Jackson, Keaton, Leighton, and Landry; her beloved dog, Max; and many other relatives and friends.
Virginia drove a school bus for many years for District 175. She was loved by many students and parents alike. Virginia loved to gamble, whether that be playing a game of BINGO or playing scratch-off lottery tickets. Years ago, she loved bowling and tending to her beautiful flowers in her garden. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Belleville, IL.
Above all else, Virginia loved her family dearly and cherished her time with them. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Association or to the American Alzheimer’s Association.
A visitation for Virigina will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2025 from 2:00 P.M.- 5:00 P.M. at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home in Belleville, IL. A prayer service will begin at 1:45 P.M.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church. Final interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
