Virginia F. Stolle Mueller

Mrs. Mueller was baptized at St. Peter’s Evangelical and Reformed Church, St Louis, Missouri and confirmed at this church in 1940 by Pastor August Rasche. Prior to her marriage, she worked at Sterling Aluminum Company St Louis Missouri, as a secretary in the shipping department.

Virginia married Ervin G. Mueller at St. Peter’s Evangelical and Reformed Church, St Louis Missouri on November 6, 1948 by Reverend Elmer Hoefer. Four children were born of this union.

In 1954, she and her family moved to Belleville, Illinois. She was a member of Hope Church, Belleville for over 55 years. She was one of the founding members and a charter member. She served for several years as one of the first church organists. Virginia was a member of Senior Fellowship of Hope Church; life member of Daughters of Naomi; life member of Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Captain of fund raising team for the building of Memorial Hospital. A Member of Daughters of Union Veteran Civil War-Julia Dent Tent; St Louis Genealogical Society; and Mercer County, Ohio Genealogical Society. She enjoyed gardening and traveling. Travel included all states in the U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, and parts of Europe, Canada, and Mexico. She was a retired employee of Dr. Robert Chapman, medical assistant/receptionist.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Ervin G. Mueller; son, Mark S. Mueller; parents, Harry and Anna, nee Weiss, Stolle; sister, Myra Jean, nee Stolle, Kittrell; brother-in-law, James Kittrell; nephew, Lathe Kittrell; sister-in-law, Joan, nee Mueller, Schumacher; brother-in-law, Lawrence Schumacher; brother-in-law, Edwin Mueller, sister-in-law, Shirley, nee Ott, Mueller; sister-in-law, Mildred, nee Mueller, Childers; and brother-in-law, Truman Childers.

She is survived by her children, Daniel Mueller, Sr., of Belleville, IL, David W. Mueller of Collinsville, IL, Karen (Kenneth) Pennycuick of Wildwood, MO; seven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

Memorials in Virginia’s name can be made to Union United Methodist Church, Belleville, IL.

Interment will be held privately at Virginia’s request.
