Vivian worked as a dedicated pharmacist technician for over 20 years at Home Pharmacy Services. She loved the Lord and was an avid church goer at Life-Point Church for many years. Vivian enjoyed her many trips to Boston to spend time with her brother, James. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving to cherish her memory include her sons, Daniel A. (Jennifer) Bishop of Belleville, IL, Thomas (Crystal) Bishop of Sheridan, AR, Donald (Cheryle) Bishop of Ashdown, AR and John Bishop of Mexico; grandchildren, Samantha M. Bishop, Marilyn L. Bense, Kameron Bishop, Kristopher (Samantha) Bishop, Kirsie (Anthony) Vargas and Brooks Bishop; siblings, Martha L. Richardson of Belleville, IL, James E. (Alice) Sheeley of Quincy, MA, Vernon S. (Libby) Sheeley of Edwardsville, IL, Wendell B. (Isabel) Sheeley of Jacksonville, IL and Sandra E. (Tim) Redman of Caseyville, IL. Vivian was blessed and loved by many nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Eulene (Linley) Sheeley; brother, Paul Sheeley Sr, ex-husband, John R. Bishop and her beloved dog, Smokey.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 5:00pm in Valhalla-Gaerdner-Holten Funeral Home, 3412 Frank Scott Pkwy. W, Belleville, IL 62223 with a visitation from 1:00pm until time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Adopt A Stray Rescue or the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
