He was an intelligent guy who had a natural curiosity in many things. His main interests were model trains, wood working, cooking, movies, watching Formula 1, dogs, and eating good food.
He loved to cook and was good at it. A couple of his friends would say his specialty was steak - they would invite him over for dinner and have him cook mountains of steaks for them. Unfortunately, he wanted a sous chef to clean up his kitchen for him. He had a lot of patience in getting all the ingredients prepped just right and was not afraid of tedious cooking techniques.
He loved dogs. Though he only had cats in his adult life, Andy loved dogs and looked forward to having a dog (or two) to train and for companionship. He did a lot of research and read several books on training dogs. Previously, he had wanted to raise two Hungarian Vizslas, but his interest changed to Rottweilers this past year. He enjoyed going to the Marymoor Dog Park to watch all the dogs and their humans being silly.
He was a funny guy. He never ceased to make his medical care team laugh even when he was sick. Several of his medical care team members remarked to family members on his great sense of humor. His friends and family, on the other hand, sometimes responded to his humor with eye rolling.
He was an organ donor. Unbeknownst to his family, he had signed up to donate his corneas. His corneas saved the eyesight of two females - 66 and 88 years old.
He will be missed.
