

Anita Lois Cohen, age 84 years, of Bellevue, WA passed away peacefully on 8/28/2020, at Hospice House, University Place, WA.
Private family Funeral services will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Bellevue, WA.
Anita was born in Buffalo, NY to Ethel and Bernard Craden on 3/14/1936. She graduated from Buffalo State, and went on to receive her Master and Doctorate of Education from the University of Rochester. She married Gabriel Cohen, the love of her life, in Rochester, NY, and they went on to move to the Seattle, WA area, in 1988. She worked as a school teacher at School #1 in Rochester, NY, and went on to become a College Professor at St John Fisher College teaching Education. After her move to the Bellevue, WA area, she was employed at Eastside Literacy Council. Anita had a real passion for Education, and went on to tutor children in various schools. Anita had a love for the arts, literature, nature, and animals. She was involved in various organizations, to include, a Docent at the Bellevue Art Museum, and volunteering at the various local theatre's. She was a Master Gardener, and volunteered at the Bellevue Botanical Garden, as well as gardening workshops. She also volunteered at the Bellevue Library for many years, as well as many book clubs. Anita was involved for many years at the Sisterhood at Temple B'nai Torah.
Anita lived a blessed life, and traveled the globe with her husband, Gabriel. She loved spending time with her family and animals, and celebrating life was very important to her. She was a very beautiful woman inside and out, and had a smile that would light up the room. She was a shining light, who has departed her earthly vessel to rise up to the heavens.
Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Gabriel, her parent's, Ethel and Bernard Craden, and her sister, Sharon Wenokur.
She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Dwyer and son in law, Kevin Dwyer. Her daughter, Judi Tamblin and her significant other, Robert Mckay. Her step children, Debbie Tucker(Sam/deceased), Mina Cohen(Jeff) and Michael Cohen(Sunny). Her brother Fred Craden, and cousin, Susie Belinson. Her Her grandchildren, Richard and Maria Tamblin. Her step-grandchildren, Jennifer, Seth, Aaron, Ben, Yael, and Alana. Her nieces, Jennifer, Cari, and Abbey. She is also survived by her beloved dog Snoopy, who is currently in the care of her daughter's.
