Betty Louise (Betty Lou) Conner passed away April 20, 2013 at the age of 84. Betty Lou was born in Winfield, Kansas in 1929 where she spent her childhood and met the love of her life (husband of 57 years), Fred Conner. Fred and Betty Lou married in 1948 and moved to Norman, Oklahoma where Fred attended the University of Oklahoma and Betty Lou worked as a telephone operator. Betty never lost her love of talking.
Eventually the couple moved back to Kansas where they raised their 3 sons until 1962. At that time they followed Fred's job at Boeing to Washington State. They lived in the same home in the Newport Hills area of Bellevue for 45 years, developing many close friendships.
From road trips to European vacations, Betty Lou and Fred loved to travel and saw a great deal of the world. Betty was fond of cruise ships. She and Fred shared a love for spending time at the family cabin on Hood Canal.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Betty Lou's greatest joy was found when surrounded by loved ones. She was kind and compassionate to all that had the good fortune of being in her presence. Never one to complain, Betty Lou was patient and tolerant. She gave friends and family her undivided support and attention. Her warm smile and generous spirit will truly be missed.
Betty Lou is preceded in death by her beloved husband in 2005. She is survived by sons, Craig, Eric, daughter-in-law, Sue, granddaughters Amy, Holly, Carynne, Heather and Alicia, great grandsons, William, Sawyer and Hunter. Son Kevin was lost in 1971. Betty was very fond of her three sisters, Janet (who preceded her in death in 2012), Genny and Myrna Kay.
