Bonita Louise Worthington

Bonnie was born on October 7, 1944 in Williston, North Dakota. Her family eventually moved to Washington where she was a champion tennis player with high academic standing at North Central High School in Spokane. She then attended the University of Washington and pledged the Chi Omega sorority, Alpha Chapter. After graduating in 1966 with a degree in Physical Education, she went on to build a fulfilling career as a Physical and Health Education teacher. She taught at several schools in both Washington and California over more than 30 years, including Hyak and Tyee Junior High Schools, and Newport High School in Bellevue. She was beloved by her students.

Bonnie will be remembered most for her kindness, warmth, and caring spirit. She loved spending time in the kitchen and especially enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Those lucky enough to gather around her table will fondly remember—and deeply miss—her famous Caesar salad dressing and homemade croutons. An avid golf, tennis and pickleball player, she also loved watching professional tennis and Seattle Seahawks games. One of her favorite places in the world was the Hale Pau Hana resort on Maui.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, David Worthington, her stepson, Jeff Worthington, and her two step-grandchildren, Jordan and Kirkman Worthington.

A celebration of life will be held at a future to-be-determined date.
