Reminiscing about relocating to Texas, I was saddened to learn Carey passed. Longest childhood friend whose insight, intellect, encouragement, friendship, bravery, and basketball skills were a blessing as a teen. Leaving Garfield High, we attended Sealth High School as racially integrated students, which helped us understand a culture outside the hood we lived in. One day, leaving the metro bus stop and arriving at the school, a large group of white students blocked the entryway doors that morning. He and I hesitated, I turned around, but he barreled through and entered, that’s the bravery I mean. The last time I met him was at Janice's house, and he and I went to Muckleshoot. he enjoyed casinos.

My name is Karessa Lang and I was a very good friend of Mr. Carey Jones. We designed and created a gold cane together, it was so awesome working with him on this project.  He was a wonderful and gentle soul, he would often bring me fudge. I’ve been calling and calling him finally today I called and the phone was disconnected,  my mind said check the obituaries which was my last option. I’m very sad to hear of the passing of my dear friend.  I was really hoping to visit with him again on this earth. I know he said he had a daughter, can you please give me a call 469-223-3831. Thank you so much and blessings to the family. 

My condolences to Mr. Carey L. Jones  daughter and entire family.  I met Mr. Jones as a student at Dallas Baptist University in a study group.  I remember him as well rounded and full of knowledge.  He loved sharing  and helping others in need, he would search for an organizations to give donations. 
  
Courtney, I never met you but he would mention you often and our thoughts was that you were the joy of his life.  Prayers are going out for God to give you strength in the trying time.
