She is a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
Carol was born on September 7, 1949 to Lota Mae Granberg (Zielinski) and John Arthur Granberg in Kirkland, Washington. She was raised in Bellevue, Washington where she was a member of the Bon Marche’s Fashion Board and a graduate of Bellevue High School in 1967.
She then attended the University of Washington for two years before joining Eastern Airlines in 1970. Carol enjoyed traveling for the next six years before becoming a mother in 1977 and moving back to Washington state to raise her daughter. She then began a thirty-year career in the software development and medical technology industries, eventually retiring from Spacelabs Health Care in 2017.
Carol was a gentle soul who found happiness in the simple things in life. Her kind and compassionate nature was contagious – she was the first to smile or say “hi” to a stranger or offer assistance. She enjoyed trips to the ocean (Lincoln City, Oregon was her favorite spot), gardening, cooking, listening to her favorite music and spending time with her family, friends, and beloved cats.
Carol is preceded in passing by her mother Lota in 1956, her sister Penny in 1992, her father John (Art) in 2003, and her step-mother Marlene in 2019. She is survived by her daughter, Sasha, her brother Jon (and his wife Connie), her sister Jill (and her husband Tom), her brother-in-law Wayne (and his wife Linda), her niece Katelin (and her husband Brett and son Jamison) her niece Carsen, and her nephew Cameron (and his husband Josh).
Carol Lynn Lawrence will be laid to rest in a private gravesite service on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 10:30 am at Sunset Hills Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
