Chaleia Morae Gill was born in Seattle, Washington on Friday, December 17, 1982 to Jim and Sherry Gill. She peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 14, 2012. Chaleia was raised in Bellevue, Washington and attended Eastgate Elementary School, Tillicum Middle School and Bellevue High School. Chaleia graduated with honors from Bellevue High School in 2001. Following high school, she attended the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. While earning her degree, she joined a fraternal organization, Alpha Xi Delta where she created a plethora of lifelong friendships. She later joined several professional organizations including the American Nurses Association, the Washington State Nurses Association and the Association of peri-Operative Registered Nurses. In addition, to further her professional goals, while in school, she worked at the University of Washington Medical Center. If you converse with one of her friends today, they will probably mention her feisty can-do attitude, her zeal to encourage them to strive to achieve their goals in life, and the importance of the strong loving family bond she enjoyed. Ask how many times they heard her say, “my _____ (mother, sister, brother, dad, or other relative) can get on my last nerve, but I still love her/him.”
Subsequent to her studies, she went to work as an operating room nurse at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. She worked there for nearly five years, prior to pursuing a career in medical examination and pathology. She participated in an accelerated program at the University of California, CSI Academy where she graduated with an A+. Her professor disclosed that she was the only student, in the history of the program to receive an A+.
She leaves to cherish her endearing legacy, her devoted parents, Jim and Sherry Gill, and her two siblings, Kiara and Dane Gill. Additionally, her loving Grandparents Tarlene and Raymond Wright Sr., her Uncle Ray Wright Jr. (Janice), Grandmother Mary Rogers, Grandmother Claudia Mitchell and a host of loving cousins, friends and other relatives.
