I grew up in Northwest Spokane with Charlie. We were best of friends 3rd grade through college. We did everything together, worked, studied, horsed around, trained for both Cross Country and Track (you probably didn't know that Charlie was an outstanding distance runner in Jr and Sr HS, absolutely next level results and talent). We even would play chess via CB radio from our own beds when we were kids at night when our folks thought (demanded) we were sleeping.... Of course our folks knew, but let it slide. I was a fixture at the Johnston house, as Charlie was at ours. The crew we hung out with is amazingly still intact. There are so many memories, I couldn't begin to share, but we had a blast. Charlie's boyhood friends and I are devastated by this news, and send their heartfelt sympathies and condolences to Sue, the dogs, and Charlie's family. The gang in Spokane will be hoisting a glass to Charlie Johnston, our buddy, gone now, but never ever forgotten.

Heartfelt sympathy for the family. I worked with Charlie at Avtech in Seattle, it was always a pleasure. He always had a smile! He surely will be missed. Prayers and thoughts for the family.

Heartfelt sympathy to Charlie's family.
Thinking of you and wishing you peace.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

The memories of good times shared - may they
sustain wife Sue , his family, and those who hold him dear,
as their enter on the their journey called grief.
