He was born on August 4, 1953, in Toishan, China, was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. His family moved to Hong Kong in 1955, and in 1966, they immigrated to the United States. Chung graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in Seattle, where he formed a close-knit circle of lifelong friends. Chung earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of Washington and had a successful multi-decade career at the Safeco Insurance Co. After retiring and to remain active, Chung took on delivering flowers part-time. He loved telling people that he was “delivering happiness and love to the recipients,” a sentiment that captured the joy he found in simple acts of kindness. Chung was also an avid photographer, the family’s trusted “go to” photographer for both formal gatherings and casual celebrations. His photos were more than images—they were gifts, capturing the moments and people he cherished most.
Chung is survived by his mother, Chai Ying Ng; his brothers, Kim Man Ng (Diana) and Chun Man Ng (Angela), his sisters, Yue Fong Lam and Lai Fong Chin (Ronnie), and his sister-in-law Catherine Ng; many nieces and nephews; and numerous grand nieces and nephews.
Chung is welcomed into eternal rest by his father Niu On Ng and elder brother Hap Man Ng. His presence will be deeply missed, but his warmth and generosity will live on in the memories he created with all of us.
