Craig Dennis Simcox
September 18, 1939 – April 7, 2019
Craig is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 57 years, Molly; his daughter, Vicki Smokoff (Tim), of Fox Island, WA; and his grandchildren Amanda Smokoff of Centennial, CO; Lindsey Smokoff, currently a Senior at Cal Poly University; and Emily Smokoff, currently a Senior in High School. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Holeman (Roger) of Cedar Falls, IA and nieces Brooke & Mikaela. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clair & Alice Simcox, of Iowa Falls, IA.
Craig was born on September 18, 1939 in Iowa Falls, Iowa. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1962 with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering; received a Master’s Degree from Stanford University in 1965 while working at NASA Research Center; and a PhD from Purdue University in 1969. In 1969, he moved to Seattle, WA and accepted a position as an Aeronautical Engineer at the Boeing Company, where he enjoyed a career for more than 27 years. His career offered him an opportunity to make lifelong friends, travel the world, and find great satisfaction. His career included research, managing the Noise Laboratory, Chief Engineer of 767 Technology, and Director of several programs within the Customer Services Division.
He loved spending time with his family. Being a part of his granddaughters’ life, brought him special joy. He enjoyed hiking, skiing, golfing, traveling with Molly throughout retirement, Hawaii in the spring, and amazed us all when he decided to teach himself the saxophone 2 years ago.
Craig loved his Lord and Savior, and was an elder at Northgate Gospel Chapel. His faith guided his decisions and helped him throughout his life. The Lord is faithful!
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances in Craig’s name be sent to the American Diabetes Association or the Lakeside Bible Camp (4170 Bible Camp Dr., Clinton, WA 98236).

Always a warm smile and greeting is what comes to mind with Craig!
He is "With Christ - Which is far better", but the human heart loss for family and friends remains.
Lifting you up in prayer and with love Molly and family.

I have so enjoyed looking at the family pictures posted and remember so many from our childhood..thanks for the sweet memories.
Wish the many miles did not separate us at this sad time.
We have so many precious memories of your stay at Riverview and visits to Iowa.
What a blessed hope we will all meet again above where there will be no more parting or sickness or sadness.
