Our beloved Son, Darren Norman, died peaceably and was called home to his Lord after a courageous battle with Juvenile Diabetes and Kidney Disease on Wednesday, May 20, 2010, after a long hospitalization and rehabilitation stay in both San Antonio, TX and Seattle, WA. Born in Coronado, CA, Darren graduated from Sammamish High School, attended both Bellevue Community College and Central Washington University and resided the high majority of his years in Bellevue, WA. His last employment was with Bank of America until medical problems forced his disabled retirement.
Darren developed Type I Diabetes at age six and spent the past nine years on both peritoneal and hemo dialysis. Even though he had extensive health problems and hospitalizations, Darren kept an extremely positive approach to his medical treatments. Darren loved his family and friends dearly, had an uncanny ability to communicate with others and was in turn loved by many. Even though he was severely limited in his physical pursuits, he stayed in continuous touch with everyone in his extended family of both relatives and close friends. On behalf of Darren, we would like to thank all those that treated Darren with love, unbelievable compassion and long-lasting friendships.
Darren was an avid sports fan, whether it be High School, College or Pro. He followed all sporting events and was conversant to anyone who would talk sports. He also loved his music, especially Garth Brooks. And, he thrived on sharing good laughs, having dinner, watching movies or playing board games. Darren had the gift for getting the most out of his life through his enjoyment of relatives and close friends. He will be deeply missed.
Darren was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Amyl Norman (Irene), Seattle, WA, and Hal Tingstrom (Judy), Centralia, WA. He is survived by his loving Parents, Jim and Patti Norman, Bellevue, WA, Sister Lisa Blanchett (Mark), Edmonds, WA, Uncles Rod Norman (Penny), Everett, WA, and Gary Norman (Bonnie), Normandy Park, WA, Aunt Barbara Tingstrom, Rochester, WA, Nephew Steven Blanchett and Niece Jessica Blanchett, Edmonds, WA, and numerous cousins and close friends.
