Dongsheng Zhou

周棟生，生于中国苏州， 逝于美国西雅图·。1964年清华研究生毕业·。同年与黄瑜相识，相恋，于1968年8月26日喜结连理。1969年有了长女周露， 1974年有了幺女周明。他为人宽厚，睿智多谋，一生勤勉，爱护家人，工作直至生命的最后一刻。黄瑜赋诗一首以寄哀思。

Dongsheng Zhou was born in Suzhou, China and died in Seattle, USA. Graduated from Tsinghua University in 1964. In the same year, he met Yu Huang, fell in love, and got married on August 26, 1968. Their eldest daughter, Lu Zhou, was born in 1969, and their youngest daughter, Ming Zhou, was born in 1974. He was generous, wise and resourceful, diligent throughout his life, loved his family, and worked until the end of his life. Yu Huang wrote a poem to express her condolences.

相濡以沫六十载，

盼望外出早归来。

你一世辛劳奉献，

睿智纯良众人羡。

病时与你永相伴，

惊悉噩耗你先去，

身影总在我思念！

From dawn till the setting sun, we walked, hand in hand, through many deserted lands to arrive in fruited gardens after 60 years;

When you left with the rising sun, I would glance hopefully at the door, longing for your early return.

Throughout your days, you strived and toiled, sacrificing yourself to benefit others;

Your kindness, wisdom, and devotion shone onto others like the warmth of a spring day.

When sickness pours down I am your other half, like the sky and clouds I will never leave your side;

The news of your light disappearing before mine shocked me beyond belief;

Like an ember casting shadows even when a fire has been snuffed, I will always hold the image of your soul in my heart!
