Donna Rae Johansen was born July 25, 1951 in Coupeville, Washington to Donald E. and Myrtle A. Snyder. She lived in Coupeville on Whidbey Island until she was six when her family moved to Centralia, Washington when her father became Superintendent of the Washington State Game Farm. She graduated from Centralia High School in 1969 and immediately went to work for Pacific Northwest Bell as a phone operator. Through hard work, many promotions and a move to the Seattle area, she spent 43 years with the phone company working through mergers and acquisitions, until currently working with the Century Link Phone Company.
Through all the years of hard work, she was a devoted and caring Mother to her son David Michael, "Mikey"; always making sure his needs and care were forefront of anything going on in her life. She was involved with Mikey in his bowling and activities while still getting a chance to enjoy her Whales in the Wild, her love of candles, good books, music, the color blue and of course of family and friends.
Donna is survived by her son David Michael; her sisters, Betty Jo Riley (Bob) of Chicago and Cindy Hankins (Ron) of Olympia, Washington; her brother, Donald Snyder (Karen) of Phoenix, Arizona; her two three nephews, John Bartkowski of Chicago, Ryan Hankins of Lynnwood, Washington and Landon Hankins of Olympia, Washington; two nieces, Christine Lindquist (Brad) of Chicago and Jennifer Snyder of Corvalis, Washington; two grand nephews, Colin Lindquist and Connor Lindquist; and her step mother, Gladys Snyder of Olympia, Washington.
