Born October 1, 1917 Dort lived her entire life in Kirkland, except for the past seven years when she needed a bit more help, but her heart was always in Kirkland.
She was married to Leonard Paulson for more than 55 years until his passing in 1994 and even though they did not have children of their own, their house and especially their swimming pool, was always filled with "their kids". She even got to be Grandma to Annie and Gracie Truex, a role she cherished.
She is survived by her sister Irene Benson, her sister in law Helen Linder, her niece Theresa Truex (Peter), nephew Keith Sullivan (Crystal), their children Tracy & Dan Sullivan and many, many nieces and nephews too numerous to list, all of whom she loved dearly.
A special thank you to her dear friend Sara Chapman, her caregivers at Spring Estates and the angels of Providence Hospice.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Bellevue on Thursday September 13 at 1:30. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or Providence Hospice.
Dorothy was a shining example of a life well lived
