

Dorothy Simpson-Elliott (Kuljis) passed away in Bellevue on November 9th, She was born in Bellingham, Washington on December 15, 1920 to Andrew and Dora Kuljis and had two sisters, Mini Kuljis and Florence Berry (deceased) She graduated from Bellingham High School in 1938 and moved to Seattle to work
at Boeing. She was the lead receptionist at Boeing's Plant 2 during the years of World War II and was the first person to greet the politicians, celebrities and
generals who passed through the lobby of the Boeing Administration Building. She taught social-etiquette classes for Boeing executive secretaries and wrote the company's first instruction manual for receptionists. She married Edward Hearn Simpson in 1959 and moved to Wilmington, Delaware. They were later transferred by the DuPont Corp. to Los Angeles and settled in Rancho Palos Verdes. Hearn passed away in 1986 and Dorothy eventually moved back to Seattle to be near her family. She married Willis Elliott in 1989 and moved to Bellevue. Willis passed away in 1999 and after a few years she moved to the Bellettini in Bellevue. As her health declined her final years were spent at Sunrise Senior Living. Many thanks to the wonderful caregivers who were so good to her. Dorothy is survived by her niece Linda Blondin (Jack) and nephews Michael Berry (Sharon) and Rick Berry and great nieces - Christina Hasselbalch, Heidi Blondin (Bert Hopkins), Monica Cashatt (Matt) and Michelle Neville (Dirk). She was Aunt Dodie to their children - Doriana, Logan, Hope, Noah, Amelia, Avery and Corinne.
