Frances (Fran) was born on February 5th, 1940, to James and Ann Tait in Toronto, Canada. She graduated with a Nursing Degree in 1962, and married her true love, Frank Lane in 1965. Fran and Frank relocated to Washington State in 1966 when Frank was hired by Boeing. Fran worked as a charge nurse in many environments including critical care, emergency room, general hospital, and convalescent care. Fran continued to work as a full-time nurse until 2014, putting in over 50 years of service.
The joy of Fran’s life was her family, which was centered around Frank Sr, and their three sons, Frank Jr, Keith, and Allan. She was the best mother. Fran adored her sons and lived purely for their happiness. She always created a wonderful Christmas. The celebration lasted for several days with all the great traditions of decorating, trees, food, candy, and presents. Fran was very caring, nurturing, and gave her all to her family. During the college years of her three sons, Fran worked double shifts to pay for college tuitions. All three sons graduated with engineering degrees with no student loans. The best gift of all!
Fran was always a caring nurse to her family and friends. She touched so many lives. During the last two years of her life, she lived at Fairwinds Retirement Community where she spread her wings and made many more friends. This is where she met her soul sister, Carole Hesse. They were best of bosom buddies. Fran and Carole also became close friends with Marlene Livingston. They would enjoy dinner together nightly and were known as, “The Three Musketeers”, by Fairwinds staff and residents.
Fran was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank Sr, and survived by her sister, Shona Izenburg. She was the most present person and will be dearly missed by many.
The family would like to thank Fairwinds and Evergreen Hospice for the care and compassion they showed to Fran in her final days. They would also like to thank Carole Hesse and Marlene Livingston for being such wonderful friends and companions to Fran.
