Thank you for including Fred's Eastside Runners friends in your memorial events.  We will remind our members of his long association with the group, and will rename the periodic Lake Hills run as the Fred Jaffe Memorial Run.  

It was good to see Lynn, Ken, Melissa, Diane and Fred's grandchildren. Thanks for their generosity in hosting us for the Saturday walk on Fred's favorite route.  

The family's recollections showed us more dimensions of the man we knew as a runner.  Although I knew he and Lynn attended Metropolitan Opera simulcasts at a local theater, I had not realized how much he and his family were able musical performers as well. His granddaughter's account helped us better appreciate this aspect of his multi-faceted life.

You all will remain in our thoughts whenever we gather to run the Lake Hills route that he established for us.

He was a great Father-in-law, fun to hike with, and always had an interesting perspective on issue's.
  He sang Fiddler on the roof for my family at our wedding dinner.

Fred and Lynn were bright lights when I visited my mother, Joann Hughes, at Silver Glen.  Fred was a most gentle mannered, friendly, warm, helpful person who greeted me with a wonderful smile and a warm welcome.  When he left Silver Glen and I continued to visit there, something important was missing.   While I didn't know him well, his enthusiastic greeting always made me feel that there was so much more to know - a person of depth and love.  He must have been a bright light in his families lives and I'm sure you will miss him.  His memory lives on with me whenever I visit SG.

We have so many wonderful memories of our father, father-in-law, and grandfather.  He was a "glass half full" individual with a big heart.  Fred was generous, hard working, and loved music and running.  He lived a vibrant life, and he will be missed by all who knew him.  Ken, Susan, and Rachel Jaffe

Dad, you were the light of our lives.  You will always be in our hearts.  You will continue to be a role model for us.  Your positive attitude and hard work ethic will live on in our hearts.
