Gary Marvin Mihulka

Gary was born on January 3,1946 to Marvin and Ethena Mihulka in Columbus, Nebraska. He grew up in Seattle, Washington, and graduated from Ballard High School. Following high school, Gary worked part time while attending classes at the University of Washington.

In 1968, Gary proudly entered the United States Navy spending most of his tour in Guam. After his military service, he returned to school and earned a degree in Business and Marketing from the University of Washington.

Gary began his career with Safeway before moving into food sales, where he spent many successful years as a sales representative serving a variety of grocery accounts. Known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and positive attitude, Gary built a career and reputation that reflected the values he carried throughout his life. He retired in 2014 from the Hershey Company.

Outside of work, Gary enjoyed sports, particularly football and baseball. As a proud University of Washington alumnus, his favorite team was, of course, the UW Huskies. He enjoyed following his teams and sharing his love of sports with those around him.

Those who knew Gary will remember his kindness, generosity, and wonderful sense of humor. He had a way of making people feel welcome and could bring a smile and a laugh to those around him. His genuine warmth, steady character, and positive outlook left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Sandy; his sons, Scott (Chelsie) and David (Jamie); and his grandsons, Landon, Bradley, and Bennett. He is also survived by his twin sister, Gayle (Bob) Anderson.

Gary leaves behind a lifetime of memories, a family who loved him deeply, and a legacy of kindness, hard work, laughter, and love. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
